1. Does the SweatMiser™ require a building control system to work?
No. The SweatMiser™ is a stand-alone unit and uses its own computer for calculations. No building control system is needed.
2. Is the SweatMiser™ compatible with my existing building control system?
While you don’t need to have a building control system for the SweatMiser™ to operate, the SweatMiser™ does have a 0-5VDC remote monitoring output that can be tied-in to almost all building control and energy management systems.
3. Can I monitor the savings of the SweatMiser™?
Yes. By utilizing the 0-5VDC remote monitoring output and tieing into your existing energy management system, you can log savings and use your system to create alarms. However, if you don’t have an energy management system, then you can purchase a monitoring report from Apex Controls for an additional monthly fee.
4. Does the system require a lot of maintenance?
No. Our oldest units in the field are almost 13 years old and over 95% are still calculating dew point and pulsing like brand new. The most frequent problem is the failure of the combination humidity / temperature sensor over time, which can be purchased separately for repair and should not require re-programming of the unit.
5. Does the unit have a bypass mode for maintenance?
Yes. The SweatMiser™ does have a bypass mode, allowing power to flow freely through the unit without being pulsed if technicians need to perform maintenance or testing on the doors.
